Welcome to The Original Jolene

For decades, the name Jolene has resonated through the airwaves, a testament to a woman whose beauty captivated the husband of a legend. The name "Jolene" really came from a little girl in Michigan she met at a concert.  I am that Jolene, the original            inspiration behind Dolly Parton's timeless hit.

About The Original Jolene

I am the original Jolene who met Dolly Parton in 1971 at a concert. Our brief encounter in Battle Creek, Michigan left a lasting impression,  and as the years passed, her iconic song "Jolene" became one of the most famous country ballads of all time.  Now, I am hoping to reconnect with Dolly for a long-overdue reunion.

This story carries an emotional and cultural          significance - it's a blend of nostalgia, music history, and heartfelt connection.  I believe fans would be intrigued to learn more about the girl    behind the name and see this moment come        full circle.

The Day I met Dolly Parton:

My dad was a HUGE country music fan.  While my mom was at a baseball game with my oldest brother, my dad took my sister and I to a concert featuring Porter Wagoner and Bill Anderson. Dolly Parton was regularly on the Porter Wagoner show and was also performing at this concert.

After the concert, my dad sent my sister and I up to the stage to get 2 albums signed and in the chaos of the crowd, we got   separated from each other and I was terrified - lost in this large crowd of people.

Dolly Parton saw what was happening and told the crowd not to hurt those 2      little girls.  She motioned for me to come to her at the edge of the stage and she picked me up on stage and Bill Anderson helped my sister up on stage.  This prompted my dad to then come up to the stage.

Dolly asked me what my name was and when I told her, she said she had never heard that name before and asked me how I spelled it.  She then asked me if my dad's name was Joe.  No, I told her... not understanding why she would think that.

My dad told Dolly how his mother made my name up, from his youngest brother, who had died from Leukemia, and my mom's name.

She told us not to be surprised if one day she writes a song    using my name because she thought it was so pretty.
